A. Relativpronomen im Nominativ, Akkusativ und Dativ. Complete the sentences to form relative clauses. In the first few, you’ll only need to fill in the relative pronoun, but in the later sentences, you will need to write the entire relative clause. Don’t forget to check gender and case, and to move the verb if needed!

1.Hier ist ein Student. Er arbeitet in der Buchhandlung.

B. Relativpronomen mit Präpositionen. Now try some sentences with prepositions. Remember that you’ll always need to state the preposition before the relative pronoun (e.g. ‘the man to whom I’m talking’), and that the case of the relative pronoun will depend on the preposition.

C. Definitionen. Relative pronouns are very common in definition statements (that’s a man from whom you buy bread, etc). Try to write your own definitions of the following things below. Remember to check the antecedent for gender, but the case of the relative pronoun will depend on the sentence you write.

D. Übersetzungen. In the sentences to translate below, the final sentence will use a relative pronoun, while the two sentences that precede it are to help you decide what case and gender to use and how to structure the sentence.
